I'm Heath Close.

I grew up in a small town of 700. I always knew I wanted to do something creative for a living. I just couldn't figure out how to make it pay.

I sold knives. Managed salespeople. Worked in a warehouse. Delivered pizzas. Ran a pizza franchise. Drove a school bus. Drove a truck. The pattern was the same every time. I couldn't stand the work, so I'd spend every spare moment thinking about how to start my own thing.

I ran an audio studio out of my home. It failed. I made a course teaching musicians how to build a free online presence. It failed. I started a freelance game business. The plan fell apart. I went back to trucking, started a transportation company, and ran a game studio from the sleeper of my truck after 14-hour days. I taught myself to code when the money ran out, finished a video game, and Apple featured it.
